RULES OF NETIQUETTE
Rule of thumb for guys on social media.
Let's face it, many of us guys struggle when interacting with women in real life. So social media should make it easier right? Wrong. There are just as many social media rules and etiquette in online life as in real life. The fact is there are dickheads, creeps and assholes out there. If you act like one of those in real life, you'll be labelled one, and rightly so. If you act like that online, you'll find yourself blocked or worse.
Some guys don't realise that what they are doing can come across as creepy. And feel it's unfair when they are being compared to the creeps and get blocked without having the opportunity to explain.
Put yourself in the woman's shoes for a minute.
You're the 10th guy today or the 100th this week. She's tired of interacting and being polite because after the thousandth dick pic this year (guys, it's not a turn-on, hardly any woman in your life wants to see your dick, let alone strangers. It's not some magic appendage that she thinks, OMG, I must have it when a woman sees it. Porn does NOT represent real life). So when you come along and behave exactly like the thousands before you started. Guess what? She's tired of it, BLOCK.
So guys, follow these basic rules. What I call...
RULES OF NETIQUETTE
(a big booming voice with an echo should have entered your mind when you read that. If not, go back and read it correctly)
1. Don't add women on any social media platform. Unless you have discussed it beforehand, she clearly states, "Yeah, sure, add me on Facebook."
ONLY ADD on the platform mentioned.
Otherwise, wait for them to add you.
2. DON'T PRIVATE MESSAGE THEM without first
a.) having at least some rapport on the platform. And,
b.) asking their permission first. I cannot stress this enough... always ask permission first.
3. Do not stalk their photos and like pics and/or posts that are from 2, 5, or 10 years ago. Only like the things you see on your feed. Having said that, do not like everything that pops up in your feed that is hers. (If you are so inclined to scroll through her feed or pictures. Remember what you are doing and don't accidentally go awwww.. and like a picture of her hugging her grandmother from 2 years ago. The same grandmother that died last month. It will not end well)
This changes if you BOTH agree that you're in a relationship. Then you must like everything. EVERYTHING.
4. No dick pics. I reiterate...
NO DICK PICS! This is the last thing anyone wants to see when they open their messages. Do you want to see someone one-eyed, bald slug staring at you first thing in the morning?
5. IF she asks for a dick pic. See rule number 4. Or number 6.
6. If you are in a relationship with this woman. And she asks for a dick pic. Only send it once. Or in response to her pics she sent you if that's your guy's thing. Also, any exchange of nudes is not an arsenal to leak to socials should a relationship turn sour. Delete them. You do not have access to her anymore, this also includes pictures.
7." Send Noooods". If you are trying to make a meaningful connection, no woman wants this message from some random lol. She is not an OnlyFans artist (and even if she is, perhaps you would have more success with real women if you didn't approach all women as if there were an OnlyFans artist. That is a human and that is a role she plays and that definitely doesn't mean that because you are paying for her art that you somehow own her. And if it makes you mad that you must pay for her content, the internet is full of free porn, if you must.
8. If you have a genuine interest in getting to know someone, be genuine with them.
But just as in real life rejection happens, feelings are not reciprocated. This is not an invitation to start calling them names. This will not inspire them to change their minds.
9. It is never OK to comment on shit that has nothing to do with you, this includes but is not limited to someone's weight, body, voice, clothes, gender, pronouns, race, relationship, height, hair colour, tattoos, country of origin, political views, sexual orientation, teeth, eyes, nose, state of their house, car, job, partner, religion, no religion. Basically, if you wouldn't want some stranger attacking you on the internet, do not do that to someone else.
I'm sure there are more that maybe I'm not aware of, but if you're an average guy just wanting to connect with a girl you find funny from a comment she said, or cute from her profile pic. Or you like in real life so you are wanting to connect somehow. (Btw I recommend talking to her if it's a real-life situation. If the conversation progresses in real life. Ask her out for a coffee or something)
Also, she has a right to say, “No, thank you, I’m not interested.”
If your response is to say, “I was being nice”, “I bought you X”, “I held the door for you.”
You weren’t being nice. You were expecting a return on your behaviour. Nice people are nice because they are nice. They don’t expect anything more than a thank you. If you EXPECT more than that, you are a manipulative arsehole, and you deserve to get a “Fuck Off and leave me alone!”
Follow these basic “RULES OF NETIQUETTE”, and you should be safe from the dreaded block list. Unless you are a creep, then you deserve it.
Wow! I'm impressed. I wish other guys share this perception. Love it. Much respect to you.
