Caravan Life
#caravanlife.
So you may or may not be wondering what happened?
Last you heard, Steve's family member.... well, is no longer with us.
Steve however was, and he was back the following night.
I was prepared however.
Now Steve is no longer with us. Nor any family members as far as I can tell.
As a result, I had a lot of sleep to "catch up" on. I finally got decent sleep many nights in a row. Well, what passes for decent sleep for me. If you know anything about pain, you'll know what I'm talking about.
Until last night that is. Thunderstorms and rain are loud on the van.
We are having another one tonight apparently. It briefly got stormy today, rained just long enough to make the van very humid. It was 26 outside, 33 in the van.
Normally, I love a good thunderstorms. The wilder the better. Unleash natures raw power for me to stand and watch in awe. I'm the guy that goes out into the storm, arms stretched out wide, face tilted skywards. Just standing there, while everyone at the workplace stops and looks at me.
My boss at the time said,
"Only known one other guy to do that. He was a crazy Queenslander."
I replied with.
"I ain't no Queenslander"
All I ask ..
Just leave the van upright, and attachments to van.... attached please.
Trees to stay where they are would be nice as well.
If the van does tip, it'll remind me of my seafaring days with the Australian Navy. If you didnt have everything secured when you hit rough seas, you'd know about it pretty damn quick. Lol.
That was also my favourite part. Rough seas. Being in a ship, feeling pretty secure.. until those storms hit. Tossing the ship about like it's nothing. Waves burying the front of the ship, the bridge in absolute chaos. People hanging on for dear life. There's me, also hanging on damn tight, but the biggest grin on my face.
They couldn’t get over the fact, I was there. I didnt have to be.
I miss being on the ocean. Maybe I should have got a boat instead of a van.
